Babysitting training course at Red Cross

The Sheboygan County Chapter of the Red Cross is offering a babysitter's training course for individuals ages 11 to 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
The course instructs youth on how to care for infants through school-aged children by teaching them how to prevent injuries and what to do if an emergency arises.
Participants will learn the responsibilities of a babysitter, how to prevent accidents, how to handle emergencies, some basic first aid, infant care skills and more.
The cost of the class is $30 and includes the handbook with CD-ROM and all materials used in the class. Participants who choose to have the pizza lunch should add $3 more to the cost of the class. Those not wanting pizza should pack a lunch for the day.
Advance registration and payment is required and can be done by check, cash or credit card.
The Red Cross is located at 2032 Erie Ave., Sheboygan, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The class size is limited to 12 students.
