Computers can be intimidating if you don’t know a lot about them. They’re complex, they seem fragile, and there have been hundreds of movies about how, if things go wrong, your computer will Take Over the World.
Throw all that stuff out of your head. Computers are actually fairly simple devices, once you understand how about a dozen things interact. They are no more fragile than the DVD player your three-year-old fed toast to. And they most assuredly will NOT take over the world – at least, not your home computer.
